MODA Creative Fashion Week Wrap Party: Night two

over the weekend i attended MODA Creative's Fashion Week wrap party after an eventful week at Mercedes Benz Fashion Festival in Brisbane.  Here are some images from the second night's runway and let me just say that i am now completely obsessed with the House of Cards swamp monsters print!

getting ripped.

After unpacking my luggage from holidays I have come to realise that I have somewhat of an obsession with ripped denim and stripes at the moment. Before my trip I was quite tame, with only two pairs of ripped jeans and a small handful of striped tops… but now there is not one place you can look in my closet without seeing some sort of frayed denim or stripe poking through.

My washing is also slowly piling back into my room and I just keep seeing more and more - I really didn’t realise how much of a hoarder I had become for these overseas! The amount of ripped denim and stripes now in my closet suggests just one thing to me – new weekend uniform! Thankfully this is one uniform I won’t mind wearing.

european bike tours.

european bike tours.

i have quickly learnt that bicycles are a major form of transport in most of the european countries i have been to so far - particularly amsterdam. in most they have right of way so crossing the street is no longer as easy as looking for a car coming your way, and these bikes come from all different directions unexpectedly! in amsterdam not only do you look for cars, buses and bicycles but trams as well. long story short, from experience, wait for the lights! and if you get in the way of a bike, expect some angry dutch coming your way.
bike tours have been one of the major highlights of my trip through europe - cycling through the swiss alps was breathtaking (although it left my legs feeling like jelly for two days), and then the more casual street rides through munich, holland and amsterdam have been unforgettable. i would definitely recommend doing bike tours when in europe and from someone who previous to these had not ridden one in over 8 years - it is just like riding a bike.

amsterdamned.

amsterdamned.

the first leg of my trip is over and it is crazy to think i still have so much ahead of me, considering what i have already seen and done. i am spending a few extra nights in amsterdam and then it is off to nice for a couple of days to relax before i start my next tour in the greek islands. so far my trip has been breathtaking but little access to the internet has meant i haven't been able to share much of it yet, but it will come. for now though, with the sun just going down (at 10:40pm - the long days in europe are amazing), it is time for me to catch up on some sleep x

flight mode.

flight mode.

I am leaving home right now for the airport, packed and set to fly. it hasn't really hit me yet that i am going but i can feel the nerves kicking in. i think i am ready but getting anxious that I'm not taking enough - even though im only 2kg under my baggage allowance (looks like i will be posting things back regularly). anyway it is time to take out my sim card and turn off my cellular data and get on my way to europe. be back in a couple months x

part-time.

other than studying, working and interning i also style and offer creative direction in what little free time i have. out of everything i do though this is my true passion and i would only be so lucky to be able to do it full time (fingers crossed for one day). there is not one day that i don't think about styling or a concept i would like to work on - in fact while im writing this i am also uploading a creative brief for a concept i came up with this morning while at work to an email to hopefully shoot before i leave the country for two months! my mind is always rolling with ideas and it takes time to weed through them all to find the "one". having ideas isn't a problem, it's choosing the one that hasn't been done or that you can put a new angle on that is the challenge, so my mind never stops!

this is a little look into some styling work i did earlier this year. great day with a starting up photographer in brisbane, and i will admit this was the first time i had ever styled a shoot where the male model was more comfortable in heels than the female.
